Ashton Kutcher in Twitter war with Village Voice

Ashton Kutcher's seven million-plus followers no doubt have been keeping an eye on their Twitter feeds today as the actor seems to have found himself in the midst of a Twitter war.

The 33-year-old actor fired off a series of statements in regards to a Village Voice article about his “Real Men Don’t Buy Girls” campaign, which claims that Kutcher doesn’t have his facts straight about how many minors are sold into sex trafficking. (It's an issue that Kutcher and wife Demi Moore address with their foundation DNA, and have also spoken about on "Piers Morgan Tonight.")
Kutcher tweeted last night, “Hey @villagevoice speaking of data, maybe you can help me... How much $ did your ‘escorts’ in you classifieds on backpage make last year?” and “How many of your girls selling themselves in your classifieds are you doing age verification on?”

Kutcher went on to assure the weekly, “I'm just getting started!!!!!!!! BTW I only PLAYED stupid on TV.”
But he wasn’t done yet. “No Response @villagevoice ? Oh I forgot U work business hrs. Maybe that's Y you sell girls on ur platform. they tend 2work the night shift,” Kutcher tweeted. “REAL MEN DON'T BUY GIRLS and REAL NEWS PUBLICATIONS DON'T SELL THEM.”
On Thursday, the Voice responded, “Wow, @aplusk having a Twitter meltdown! Hey Ashton, which part this story is inaccurate?... we’ll bite. Tell us the hard facts you have collected. We'll fact-check for you.”
After an apparent dearth of response from the actor, the Voice asks, “Where's your fight now, @aplusk? Did you sleep in, or are you just tuckered out from last night's Twitter tirade?”
Kutcher hasn’t yet responded directly – although the Voice retweeted a post from him that said, “don't worry I'm up, been up” but has since been deleted – but he did tweet a link to an article he wrote which he says provides his perspective on human trafficking data.
