Sok Chanthyda
With an untrue story being released by media outlet, Sok Chanthyda, also known by stage name “Kato”, felt extremely angry with it. She lost a hug income from her performance at wedding’s hair ceremony because the media released that she would get pregnant. Therefore, the families of wedding postponed hiring her to perform.
During wedding season, Khmer artists have good opportunities to earn money from their performance at wedding’s hair ceremony. According to Khmer traditional, the pregnant woman is not allowed to perform at hire ceremony of bride and bridegroom.
After she separated from Khmer comedian, known as Sanmoa, she got married to musician last year. Until now, she said that she has not yet gotten pregnant with her husband.
Most of Khmer stars expressed their angers with local magazines and newspapers over spreading untrue stories and their personal issues in public, which are affecting their careers and reputation.
